Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is an area of the muscle tissue that has become tight. The tightness causes pain throughout other parts of the body. For example, a trigger point in the back may produce pain associated in the neck. As a result, the neck then may then cause pain to the head. There are different levels of pain associated with trigger points it can feel concentrated and sharp or dull.
Trigger Point therapy is practiced through a massage technique using compression and release to the target the area in the muscle that is causing the pain. Compressing the muscle will help increase blood flow and reduce spasms. During a Trigger Point therapy session, the client will also be encouraged to practice deep breathing and to help identify the location of the pain and its intensity. In just one treatment, you can begin to feel a considerable decrease in pain and regular trigger point therapy can help manage chronic pain and discomfort.
